Elizabeth Charron

Licensed Midwife

My name is Elizabeth Charron and I am the Owner and Midwife of Palms Birth House. I am a FL Licensed Midwife as well as a Nationally Certified Professional Midwife. I have been part of the birth community since 2010. My training and zest to learn from the best led me to work with every senior midwife in South Florida. I am the mother of four wonderful children. My team and I are here to provide quality birthing care to you and support to your family because it is a privilege that we take seriously. Our holistic approach strives to support the whole family throughout the birthing process. I truly look forward to meeting you and being a part of your growing family through this beautiful transition.

Maria Jose Ilabaca

Licensed Midwife

Originally from Chile, I became a midwife at 23 years old, beginning my career in neonatology and later expanding into postpartum, newborn care, and labor and delivery in both public and private hospitals—experiences that shaped both my clinical expertise and my deep commitment to family-centered care.

In 2018, I moved to the United States to continue pursuing my passion for midwifery, becoming the first Chilean midwife to obtain a Licensed Midwife credential in Florida. At the same time, I returned to school to earn my Associate Degree in Nursing and become a Registered Nurse. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery and Newborn Care and postgraduate degrees in Clinical Research and Academic Teaching.

I am CPR, NRP, and BLS certified and provide services in both English and Spanish.

Today, I bring that experience to the birth center setting, where evidence-based care and compassionate support come together. It is an honor to walk alongside families during one of the most meaningful transitions of their lives, helping create a safe, empowering, and memorable birth experience. I view every birth as a transformative journey—one that leaves a forever lasting impact not only on the families I serve, but also on me as a person.
